Day 339, 12/5/2013 - Eat, knowing today was going to be a very busy day I toasted a bagel and brewed a pot of coffee once I was at the office. My plan was to get all printing and tasks done before the ice storm hit the Dallas area. I totally skipped lunch and survived on my coffee and bagel until dinner with my friend, Karen. The weather reports were on target this time as it started to rain, sleet and freeze early in the afternoon. I am so glad that I got everything done before leaving at a little after 5pm. It took me over an hour to get to the restaurant where I was to meet Karen (normally about a 20-30 minute drive). She ordered for us and we shared the Pasta Carbonara at Apollonia's. They were so gracious to Karen as she waited for about an hour for me. The owner brought us both a glass of Limoncello before we left to make it the 7:30 performance of Sonos Handell Ensemble. They shortened the program a bit so everyone could get home before all of the roads froze.

Pray, prayers of thanksgiving that both Kari and Karen got home safely from the concert. My stairs were already covered in ice when I got home. I was thankful to make it up safely. Joy, my joy was in seeing Sonos in concert. I know several in the group and wasn't about to miss them being in my state and town no matter the weather. I was, however, secretly glad that Karen insisted on taking her older vehicle and leaving my new car in the garage.
