Day153, 6/2/2013 - Eat, had lunch with my youngest son, James. We met at Twisted Root, a great burger/hot dog place. You can select any style and attach it to a burger or a hot dog. I chose the Frito Bandito Hot Dog. A delicious hot dog on a poppy seed bun with guac, chili, cheese and fritos. The fun part is the way they announce that your food is ready. Yesterday we were "Smurfette." Depending on who the caller is, they may get into the character of your chosen name. It can be very entertaining. Pray, I prayed for mental peace on this June 2nd, my mother's birthday. It's hard to believe she has been gone almost 5 years. On a happier note, June 2 is also my cousin's birthday, happy birthday to Jana. Joy, my joy was in being a part of this year's Americana concert at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in the handbell choir. They have welcomed me with open arms. It was a combination of the vocal choir, soloists, symphony and handbell choir. Donnie Ray Albert is an amazing performer, I love to hear his soulful voice. Magnificent! You cannot participate in music like that and not come away better for it.

 

Day 152, 6/1/2013 - Eat, enjoyed food and drink all of my own doing today. Breakfast of coffee and english muffin, lunch of ham, turkey & cheese sandwich and dinner of nachos. I went one whole day without eating out! Pray, yesterday's prayers answered. My friend, Michele, came through surgery well and now begins the recovery process. Prayers of thanksgiving. Joy, my joy is in several things. Saturday and sleeping in. Being self sufficient and not eating out for a day. Catching up on episodes of Psych, love that show!

 

Day 151, 5/31/2013 - Eat, I love Fridays!  My Fridays often begin with Starbucks coffee and this Friday was no exception. While there I purchased lunch, a chicken BLT salad sandwich. Made for a very good lunch. I extended happy hour into dinner with spinach artichoke dip and jalapeño pimento cheese spread. Both filling and delicious. Pray, I pray for my friend, Michele, who is having back surgery today. Joy, my joy is, "It is Friday! " I very much enjoy having the weekend ahead of me.
