Thanksgiving holidays 2013

Day 335, 12/1/2013 - Eat, a protein drink as I ran out the door to ring and sing at church this morning. Some quick shopping after ringing and singing then home to finish my Christmas decorating. Dinner was after a handbell concert that I attended with friends, Kari and Karen. I introduced them to one of my favorite places, The Holy Grail Pub. We shared their awesome gravy/cheese fries and white cheddar mac & cheese. Pray, prayers of thanksgiving that ringing and singing went well this morning since I missed a rehearsal because of my Thanksgiving holiday travel. Joy, my joy was in being with friends for an evening of entertainment and dining.

Day 334, 11/30/2013 - Eat, early morning flight and I didn't pick up breakfast so had Bloody Mary mix to drink and a Clif bar on board. I was home by 11am. Feeling really tired I decided to take a short nap, four hours later I woke up. Guess I was more tired than I thought...lol! Had leftover pizza for lunch/dinner. Pray, prayers of thanksgiving as our flight to DFW went well. Joy, my joy was in getting the Christmas decorations out and putting up the tree. Not funny at the time, but hilarious later, putting up the tree proved to be a challenge. Almost done decorating, the angel on top falls and the entire tree tips over only saved by my one quick hand. There the angel is upside down dangling by her electric cord, a fallen angel...lol. My tree is now propped with stone coasters. I will chuckle to myself every time I look at it this Christmas season.

Day 333, 11/29/2013 - Eat, made the mix of Eggnog scones that I brought for breakfast. We visited the Mill City Museum which was very cool and interesting. I realized that the stainless (Twin Star) and silver (Queen Bess) patterns that I grew up with were received by cashing in Betty Crocker/General Mills coupons. Wow, I think I will go dig them out of storage they now have renewed interest and value to me. We had a late lunch at Cafe Ena, Latin Fusion Cuisine. I had the mushroom quesadillas and a glass of Sangria. Our late dinner was at Smack Shack Lobster. Everything was a favorite there, lobster mac & cheese, their famous lobster roll sandwich and ginger bread key lime pie for dessert (sounds strange but was very good).

Pray, I prayed that I would be able to do the walking required. I had a blown out shoe (discovered at the museum) and some back issues. Prayers answered as I made it  through the day well.

Joy, my joy was in going to the local comedy, "I Saw Daddy Marry Santa Claus." An original comedy by  Brave New Workshop that took a comedic look at our old Christmas traditions as well as the new ones like Qwanza, the Modern Family and "What if Santa was gay?" Yep, joy in laughter!

Day 332, 11/28/2013 - Eat, coffee and cereal for breakfast. Thanksgiving day so I saved up for all of the T-day goodies.  Turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, cranberries, mashed potatoes, brandy glazed carrots and gravy. Dessert about 2 hours later of pumpkin and pecan pie. So full but so good! A two meal day for sure. Couldn't possibly eat another thing! Pray, prayers of thanksgiving that I am with family, 2 of 3 of my children, and friends on Thanksgiving. Joy, my joy was in not having to cook or prepare hardly anything for our feast. Daughter, Sarah, her friends and roommate took care of everything. Joy in being lazy!
