Day 349, 12/15/2013 - Eat, had a protein drink in the car on the way to sing for both worship services on the third Sunday of Advent. Met friends, Lynn and Marilyn, for lunch at Picasso' s. We had cheese bread and I ordered the salmon and broccoli over angle hair pasta, so good. For dinner I had left over fish and chips. Pray, my prayers today are for the north eastern states that the winter storm will not be too bad for them. Joy, my joy was in the music today. We sang parts of Vivaldi's "Gloria" this morning for worship (one of my favorite pieces). Carolfest was tonight and the bell choir rang and adult choir sang. It was a delight to see all of the children's choirs sing and chime. Joy in the music and the children's excitement during the Christmas season!

Day 348, 12/14/2013 - Eat, on the go breakfast, a yogurt protein bar then off to a morning rehearsal. Lunch was Pam's Pimento on honey wheat bread with cheetoes. For dinner we met at Blue Mesa where I had margaritas and their famous Adobe Pie. It is made with chicken and corn masa, delicious. Even better the company of my Concert Bells of Fort Worth buddies. Pray, my prayers today were for memory and that I could ring "Jingle Bells" from memory as we played at the Galleria Mall. Joy, my joy today was in ringing bells at the mall in my first flash mob. Well, I guess we were a mini mob as we only had 8 people ringing. It was way more fun than I had anticipated it would be. I know the piece perfectly by memory now after ringing it so many times. Now it's time to memorize the next piece for our concerts next week.

Day 347, 12/13/2013 - Eat, had brewed Texas Pecan coffee with a yogurt protein bar. The Preston Hollow handbell choir had a noon time concert at the church and we were invited to stay for lunch afterwards. A Tex-Mex theme, chicken enchiladas, rice, salad, chips and salsa. They had little pecan pie, brownie and lemon bites. Nothing like a free lunch, I think it taste better. The church is looking very festive with the poinsettias, trees and decorations in place. Pray, prayers that Alys and I arrive safley and on time for our Concert Bells performance in Irving. Prayers answered as we had time to gobble down the chicken salad and cookies that I brought for a pre-concert snack. Joy, my joy was in seeing the lights in Vitruvian Park in Addison as I drove by at 10 pm. I drive by every morning and afternoon but rarely get to see the lighs in the trees when they are on. It is a beautiful rainbow of color during the holidays. Not a bad Friday the 13th!

Day 346, 12/12/2013 - Eat, had my first Gingerbread latte of the season for breakfast. Took chicken salad for lunch and had another chip and dip dinner. Pray, I prayed that I would get enough work done at the office so that I could leave on time and get some Christmas shopping done. Prayers answered as I was able to get most of my shopping done. Joy, my joy today was in purchasing myself a new sofa pillow. It says JOY! I'm sure it is supposed to be only for the holidays. I'm thinking I will leave it out year round to remind me to find JOY in every day!

Day 345, 12/11/2013 - Eat, had a banana with my coffee for breakfast. Took left over Rotel shells & cheese for lunch. Had an on-the-go dinner from Taco Bueno, a burrito and a beef roll up. Pray, my prayers this time of year are for energy and stamina to make it through my many rehearsals and performances. Joy, my joy is in the fact that most of the ice melted today as temps were in the 50s. Joy in safer driving to my many events!

Day 344, 12/10/2013 - Eat, coffee for breakfast. Not good of me, but it took almost two hours to drive to my office on the first day back after the ice storm. I did remember to take a sandwich for lunch, my favorite chicken salad from Sam's Club. My Tuesday rehearsal was still happening. I debated on going or not since not all of the ice had a chance to melt. The bridges were still pretty icey. We met at Texas Roadhouse for some comfort food, I had the mini cheeseburgers and mac & cheese. I admit it, I actually like Kraft Mac & Cheese. This does not mean that I will not continue the quest for the best gourmet mac & cheese. I brought Snickerdoodles for my dinning buddies. Pray, my prayers were that all make it to and from rehearsal safely. Prayers answered, all made it home safe. Joy, my joy was in getting home safely. There was still a lot of ice and black ice on the roads. The highway I was on was completely stopped due to an accident on a bridge. I was able to detour by taking the nearest exit. Yes, joy in getting home safely!

Day 343, 12/9/2013 - Eat, brewed a pot of Texas Pecan coffee and made oatmeal for breakfast. Day 4 of the Texas ice storm. Some melting occurred yesterday but we decided to close the church office since most major ISDs were closed again. I got out of the house to attend a memorial service. Grabbed a quick burger at Wendy's on the way. For dinner I had chips and dip. Later, I felt chilled so I got out the tin of Starbuck's hot chocolate. It was gifted to me a couple of years ago and it is awesome, so chocolaty and rich.
Pray, I pray for the family and friends of Cindy Long, she is gone all too soon from this world. She was a few years younger than me, what a dose of reality when you are reminded that we are human and should live our lives as if each day was our last. Cindy was always happy and had a smile on her face. I don't ever recall seeing her down. May her family feel the love of God, family and friends at this time. Joy, my joy is simple, I am joyful that my trip out went well. I am more than a little nervous in driving these days. I will venture further tomorrow as the office will be open.
